The Writing Center's Dissertate Write Now! and other writing groups offer weekly time for graduate students to devote to working on their dissertations, theses, or other significant graduate-level writing projects in a supportive environment.

Benefits to participating in the Writing Center's writing group program include access to structured time to facilitate progress on their writing projects, and a community of supportive peers. Participants will see the most benefits if they commit to the group at the beginning of the semester and attend every meeting. However, participants are still permitted to join the group late or miss a session or two if necessary.

Fall 2021 Writing Groups are online only. Participants will then work on their writing project for most of the meeting time with Zoom still open. At the end of the writing session, participants will spend a few minutes talking about their progress and goals.

Dissertate Write Now! Tuesdays 1pm-3pm, beginning September 7

This group is open to any graduate students working on a dissertation, culminating portfolio, master's thesis, or other substantial/significant writing projects. Weekly meetings will be focused mostly on getting the writing done. The facilitator may sometimes lead short discussions about writing issues of interest to the group. Participants will be asked to log their writing progress. This group does not provide feedback on drafts.
