Offered during Winter and Summer sessions, the Writing Centers' Dissertation Boot Camp is an intensive multi-week workshop for UD graduate students writing their dissertations.
Participants spend a majority of their time writing; however the program also includes presentations on topics relevant to dissertations students, including motivation, goal setting, and time management.
Students gain access to space, and the structure to facilitate progress on their dissertation. They do not receive feedback on their draft; rather, the Dissertation Boot Camp provides support for their writing process.
There will be four Dissertation Boot Camps held during Summer 2018. Sessions will meet in the Memorial Hall Writing Center from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Coffee will be served in the morning, lunch will be served at 1pm, and snacks will be available all day.
Most participants bring their own laptop or tablet to work on. We have plenty of extension cords. We will be able to accommodate a few students in each Boot Camp who need to use a Writing Center computer.
Applications for a spot in a summer Boot Camp are due Monday, May 21 at 9:00 a.m. We usually receive applications from more students than we can accommodate; applying is not a guarantee that you will get a spot. Applicants will be notified about the status of their application by May 25.
